So I got a chance to participate in the UW Street Fair last weekend and it was great! These two illustrations were new for the booth, the ballerina is a coloring of an old inktober sketch and the squirrel is the star of my new business cards! Inktober: The Conclusion

All done with inktober! It was a lot of fun. I even did a few extras.

Donkeyskin

These are actually pretty old. I started them on separate occasions (which is why, although both are the same character in the story, they look completely different) and then just forgot about them. I came across them when I was cleaning up my hard drive and thought  I would finish them off. Donkeyskin is  sort of a variation on the Cinderella story. It's a little strange, but I like it.

More fairy tales!

Ah!  I hate it when you accidentally make a piece too small, and you don't realize it until you try to zoom in! Yep, that's what happened. Another fairy tale inspired illustration. This one is from East of the Sun and West of the Moon. It's sort of a Beauty and the Beast story, but different.

I know, I know, I've been terrible this past month about updating! I am so ashamed. As penance for my negligence, I will try to update twice a week for this next month. We'll see how that goes. Anyways, I went to a new coffee shop and did this doodle of a guy waiting for his coffee. Enjoy!

Rainbow Fish...Dress

I've been looking at the Rainbow Fish book quite a bit lately and I was thinking that it might be fun to do something else with it. So I thought I'd make a rainbow fish dress. The model is doing her best rainbow fish impression.

100th Post!

Wow, I can't believe it took this long to get to 100. Guess I should update more often. I did as a companion to the last piece, it's the paper ballerina from the Steadfast Tin Soldier.

Fairy Tales

If I had to choose a favorite fairy tale, I think The Steadfast Tin Soldier would probably be it. It's such a charming and tragic little story (like most of Hans Christian Anderson's tales) and I remember being moved by it even when I was young. I've always wanted to do something with it. Maybe I'll draw up some more characters from the story.

Better late than never...

I drew this in the fall and then promptly forgot about it. While going through a bunch of scans I rediscovered it and thought I would photoshop it up. I'll try to do something more seasonally appropriate next time :)

Merry Christmas Eve!

This was an anniversary present for my boyfriend. We've only watched a little of Game of Thrones, but he really wants a dire wolf. Not knowing where to acquire said beast, I thought I'd give him this as an alternative. Happy holidays everyone!
