Seattle Love

A piece I drew up awhile back and finally got to coloring. Just wanted to celebrate some of the charm of Seattle.

Pen Drawings

Some older sketches and illustrations for class and for fun. The ones of the rabbits and the wolf were illustrations done for class. I put up the uncolored images too because I sort of like them better. The rest are sketches from life and are mostly just me trying to get more comfortable sketching in pen. I am use to working very tight in pen, now I want to get loose. And yes, the title is almost a lie because there is one page of pencil drawings. What can I say, sometimes you just want to erase things.

Warm and Cool

Some color ideas for lighting for the color script of our short. The last is just something I've had in my head since my sister and I road tripped down to California.

Layouts

I'm not much of a layout artist, but we did some paint overs for our concept art class and it was kind of fun. We were suppose to use a CG image and use it to paint a day and night scene. I chose a simple scene and didn't do too much modification, but it was cool playing with colors and design elements and not have to worry about perspective. There are still some details I'd like to add, but it might never happen so I figured I'd just post what I have. I did not create the CG image, nor did I record where I found it, so whoever's it is, thanks for the fantastic work. The names on the tombstones are cherished toys from my childhood.

Senior Project!

So Noel Hanson and I are working on a short cinematic for our senior project (right now we're calling it Once Upon A Mime). It's about a mime who lives in the void of his imaginary pantomimed world until reality interrupts his complacent existence. We set up a blog for the project you can check out http://onceuponamime.blogspot.com/. This is some of the early dev work I did in the summer. I'll try to post progress on it here and there.

Updates coming soon...

I'll be posting some work for senior projects soon, but I figured I would post something in the meantime, since it's been awhile. A quick piece I did for a friend.

For Steven Hernandez,

I promised I would dedicate this long awaited post to one of my best and only fans, Steven Hernandez, who has been after me to update forever. You can check out his work here -->http://hgans.blogspot.com/ Here are some of the of the things I got to work on during the past semester. There are some renders from my junior project, some brainstorming sketches for senior project, photos of my full figure sculpture, our second project in figurative sculpture class, and some more current sketches from the zoo.

Something Different!

A few things I've worked on recently. We just finished a portrait in sculpture class and are now moving onto a full figure. It was a lot of fun. Some angles turned out better than others.

Also, an animation from our dialogue class. It needs a little touching up.

Lastly, a few stills I made for our cinematography class. The theme was romantic comedy. I really just wanted to pose the rig.

Girls

I thought I should post something up, since it has been awhile. I have more exciting things coming soon (hopefully), but in the meantime, some girl sketches.

More project sketches

A few sketches narrowing down a character design. Also a few cafe sketches. I really want to get better at sketching in pen.

Brainstorming Sketches

Some sketches from over break. I've been trying to come up with a concept for our projects class. I am thinking it will involve a kid and their stuffed lion.
