Some rough sketches and color comps of a my character for class. I'm still not very happy with the design, but it's time to move on. Also a sketch from life drawing. It's been so long since I've tried to draw a real person. I also tried a colored cafe sketch. It went alright, I think. Obviously I have a lot of things to work on.

Some concept sketches for character design. Sadly, I still don't know who my character is. What they like, what they don't like, what makes them cry, their hopes, their dreams are all still a mystery to me. Hopefully things will come together soon. In the meantime, some cafe sketches and random doodle things. Just trying to get a creative flow going. Lastly, a quick speed sketch/painting in photoshop. Still trying to get comfortable digitally.

A few sketches from class. Zach as a snail, because he works so slow, me impaled by rhino, Becker as an irritating beaver and an ass, and an angry house. Also an annoying seagull. This one does not look nearly so demented as the last one I drew. I'm losing my touch.

Well I haven't been very productive this spring break. Mostly because I've been at Disneyland. That's right, feel jealous. But I have drawn a few things, so here they are. Some cartoons of my brother and sister. The girl I drew I sat by on the plane. She saw the drawing I was doing of my brother and asked me to draw Pluto for her. She told me she would put on her Facebook when she got home. She was like 6. Next, I have what not to wear adventure gear. Inappropriate footwear, fanny packs, dangly jewelry, chains, floppy hats, etc. I've been in the field, I know these things. Lastly, skin puppets. I really didn't even enjoy drawing that, but it had to be done. It's a long story.

Lots of animals sketches this week. I really need to go to the zoo and study what animals actually look like. But this will have to do. Obviously, I am better with a ball point pen than I am with markers. For now. Also, a creepy clown Becker sketch. You know, for the kids.

Today was crit day for character design class, so I decided to make things more fun. I started sketching my fellow classmates as the characters they made for class. I added a few I didn't get to in class. Good times. Here's the batch. I'm sure they make no sense to anyone who didn't get to see all the awesome model sheets, but hopefully they're still entertaining.
