Watercolors and more!

I've been wanting to do some color work lately so I've been trying to do some sketches with my travel watercolor kit. I'm pretty rusty. The landscapes are old stuff, but the figures are new. I'm not use to coloring people. The portrait is of the famous Zach Hartlage. I decided to accentuate his Katherine Heigl side. Some more process work from character design. I still can't figure out a design I like. Quick sketch of Chase and some mildly morbid doodles.

More random doodles

I haven't done much sketching lately, so small update. Got some of the abandoned and unloved development sketches of a character I decided not to use for class, some cafe sketches, and a militant skeleton. The other doodles were from character design class; I was redrawing some of the characters people had created. People came up with some cool stuff.

Cartoonies

A new Becker drawing for the week and some sketches from character design life drawing and some quick gestures from watching The Jungle Book.

Kim and the cafe

I did say I would try to do some digital stuff. I have a model sheet of Miss Kimberly Anne Piggott that we did for class. I have a really hard time with line work in photoshop. The second is just a quick cafe sketch. It would have gone more smoothly if people hadn't kept interrupting the composition with their junk. Oh well. It's good to be practicing.

Idle hands...

Just some doodling from classes, coffee shops, etc. I find that my favorite sketches are conceived from irritated boredom in loathsome classes. Frustration is good fuel for drawing. The last one is a cafe sketch done in photoshop. I should really try to start posting some digital work. I should really start doing some digital work. Maybe next time.

Some scribbles

Just a few sketches and things. Haven't felt particularly inspired for awhile, but don't worry, it comes around again.
